Antarctica
This is a picture of The Lockroy Approach coming into Antarctica.
A variety of countries monitor UV radiation in Antarctica. The U.S. National Science
Foundation established the first regular Antarctic monitoring site in 1988. This network
is operated by Biospherical Instruments,
Inc. under the guidance of Rocky Booth.

In 1991, the 32nd Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition set up a Brewer spectrometer
and a UV pyranometer at Syowa station (69 deg S, 39.5 deg E).
