The Solar and Ozone Observatory (SOO) of the Czech Hydro-meteorological Institute (CHMI) has a UVB monitoring program in the Czech Republic. The network of five instruments are all operating and form the National Radiation Network of the Czech Republic. Data from four of the five stations is also submitted to the European Database for UV Climatology and Evaluation (EDUCE). The Czech Science Foundation and the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic provide funding for UV monitoring within the country.
Three meters are currently operating at the Solar and Ozone
Observatory in
Hradec Kralove, one at the background Observatory Kosetice, and the
fifth
in Labska Bouda. All instruments undergo regular calibraton either by
SOO/CHMI, LAP/COST/WMO, or International Ozone Services. Four of the
five instruments have participated in intercomparison exercises. Please
contact Dr. Michal Janouch or Milan Vana
for more information on CHMI monitoring.
