Switzerland

Three persons are responsible for UV monitoring operations within Switzerland; all within one organization, MeteoSwiss. Laurent Vuilleumier runs 4 instruments in Davos, the Jungfraujoch, Locarno, and Payerne. At the national level , the data produced at these sites are part of the Swiss Atmospheric Radiation Monitoring Program (CHARM) network. At the international level, the Payerne station is part of the Baseline Surface Radiation Network (BSRN). All instruments have been calibrated frequently in the past.

Rene Stubi and Herbert Schill, also of MeteoSwiss maintain one instrument located in Arosa, Switzerland. This instrument is calibrated every year and participates in inter-comparsion exercises. Both a Brewer Mark II and a Mark III are in operation at this time. Both participate in the WMO's Global Atmospheric Watch (GAW) program.
